Research
My research focuses on anthropology of health, body, and space through ethnographic fieldwork in Ecuador and the United States. My research interests include disability and bodily difference, Latin America, Ecuador, governance of health, participatory research, the social production of built environments, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), human geography, and social movements. Building on prior experience in urban planning, human geography, and work with disabled communities in the last ten years, my current research examines citizenship, space, and cultural meanings of disability among two groups: community organizations in highland Ecuador and military veterans in Arizona.
